OPHERTY & CIOCCI against eBay - hard battle, but in the end HONESTY ALWAYS WINS!

I would like to share with you a big issue which involved, for several days, a big part of our business, which are our eBay stores. We have 2 main eBay stores where we list, every day, 10-15 new auctions or fixed price listings.

Recently, eBay, on behalf of GUCCI services LTD, removed several auctions featuring GUCCI handbags & accessories. The reason was "suspect of fake items and therefore eBay & GUCCI law infringment"

eBay, N 1 auction website on the earth, has many advantages and features, but is very poor and dictatorial in customer service and decision making with their clients (sellers & buyers).

We wrote numerous e-mail and sent many faxes to all the contacts we had. eBay VERO entity (which seems to be detached from eBay itelf) is the legal part of the group, which deals with infringments & issues with authenticity of products and use of brand names on eBay. This company does not have a phone contact, but can only be contacted through e-mail. Not even eBay Power Seller dedicated customer contact may call VERO programme to ask them what is going on...

I called GUCCI Services LTD in UK, explained them the situation. I e-mailed them as well. They were very kind, and delt with our issues ASAP. I also called GUCCI "Christies" new website, and spoke with one of the directors, who, by the way, is one of our excellent customers, who buys Vintage GUCCI items for their museum.

In the end, eBay was forced to resolve our situation. All the items/auctions which were removed (with the assumption that were fakes) have been immediately relisted. All the limitations eBay imposed on both our accounts were removked.

We won a battle against N 1 website on the earth. We won with honestly and transparency, and we are very proud of it!
